SolAce NPI Provider Setup (5/23/07)

Provider Instructions to Add NPI Number on SolAce Claims
May 23, 2007

Due to HIPAA requirements, Early Intervention providers (unless otherwise exempted) are mandated to apply for and use a National Provider Identifier (NPI) on claims submitted to the Central Billing Office (CBO).

When submitting claims for Qclaims processing using SolAce, please follow the steps listed below to add the NPI to the provider setup.

Instructions to Add NPI in SolAce

1.  Log into SolAce using your current user ID and password
2. Using the toolbar on the top of the screen, click on Setup
3. Highlight and click on Provider
4. Double click the provider record you will be adding the NPI number to
5. Go to the right hand side of the screen and find the NPI box
6.  Add the provider’s NPI number in this box
7. Next, go up to the Accept tab and click on it
8. Finally, select Save
9. As you enter claims for each child, click the hourglass in box 24J, highlight the name of the provider who performed the service for the child, and click OK.  That provider’s NPI number will appear in the box.

Note on Group versus Individual Setups
The instructions above are for both individual and groups.  Even if you are an individual provider who is set up as a group, you will need to enter your NPI on both records in your provider file.

Any questions regarding this set up, should be directed to the CBO Help Desk at 1-800-634-8540.
